secondary swimming

Here at BISJ we are very fortunate to have fantastic swim facilities and well qualified, dedicated swim staff. Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 have the opportunity to swim in 2 x 8 week blocks each year. While girls and boys have separate lessons, the swim program is the same. The program aims to help students develop their skills so that they have the confidence to meet a range of aquatic challenges.

Block 1 focuses on Life Saving, Stroke Development and Aquathlons.

Block 2 focuses on Personal Survival, Stroke Development and Water Polo.

Once in Year 10 and 11, Personal Survival and Competitive Swimming are both options as part of the practical component of IGCSE PE.

Our goal is that by the they leave BISJ, students will not only have an appreciation of swimming but also understand the role it can play in their long term health and well being.
